"my Manila trip"

Last September 1st, i traveled to Manila for the renewal of my PRC identification card and to watch the live action of collegiate basketball games. I arrived at Cubao past seven o'clock in the evening after a very long road trip from Isabela, my home province. Regular travel time is about eight - nine hours from Isabela to Metro Manila but it took me twelve hours of travel because of traffics and many bus stop over. Nevertheless, i reached my destination safely!
The next morning, i went to PRC office at Morayta for my license's renewal. I chose to renew it a month before its expiry date to avoid penalty. It took me an hour to finished my transaction, however the issuance will be on the 23rd day of September so for practical reason i decided to be delivered home through a courier than to be back in Manila again.
After i finished my transaction at PRC, i dropped by at Quiapo church to pray but when i entered the church, mass celebration was going on so i joined the celebration.
At lunch time, i went to SM City Sta. Mesa via LRT2 for lunch and window shop. Hours later, i went to San Juan Arena to watch NCAA basketball games played between SSC-R Stags and EAC Generals for the first game followed by the Letran Knights and CSB Blazers, respectively.
I arrived at The Arena at 1:00 PM. At the main entrance, i saw 3 players from EAC. I only recognized Argel Mendoza. Inside the Arena, the second game in junior division was going on played between Letran Squires and La Salle Greenhills. The Squires defeated their opponent with a wide margin. I saw Coach Franz Pumaren and company watching the games. They were seated four seats away from me.They were cheering for the La Salle Greenhills team and they went out after the game was over.
I also saw Coach Caloy Garcia, PBA player Mark Andaya who almost tripped when he entered the Lower box G section, and Coach Richard del Rosario, the coach of the CSB Blazers was also watching and was waiting for the second game.
The Stags convincingly won over EAC while the Blazers bowed out to the Knights. I enjoyed watching he games! I like Jimbo Aquino of Stags for his character in playing basketball. He has potential to be a great basketball player. Argel Mendoza was the leader and leading scorer of his team but he needs help to other teammates to back him up to make their team more competitive at NCAA. And by the power duo of Rey Guevarra and RJ Jazul, they gave the Blazers their 8th loss record in this season.
On September 4, Thursday, it's UAAP day!I've been to the Big dome to watch UP-UE and UST-DLSU games. A very noisy crowd but it added excitement for the games. The first game was so close. You didn't even know which team will win until at the last two minutes when the Red Warriors showed their determinations and hearts to finished the game with their heads up high.
The second game was a very exciting game too.The Green Archers defeated the Growling Tigers by only 4 points and spoiled the cagers of Coach Pido to clinch the final four remaining slot. The Archers had showed that they have to be in the final four in this season and they end their 5 straight loss record.
Last Sept. 5th, Friday-the first friday of the month and it's a rainy day due to storm "Labuyo". At noontime, i went to SM Megamall to look for an Adidas outlet because i'm looking for Chris Tiu's Ateneo jersey but no available so i decided to go to Quiapo for friday mass. I joined the four o'clock mass. Despite the heavy rains, many devotees of Black Nazarene still flocked Quiapo church to attend mass.
The following day, i stayed at home for rest. I watched tv and slept the whole day.
On September 6, Sunday, i attended the mass celebration at Immaculate Conception Parish church at Karangalan Village, a walking distance from my foster home; then proceeded to Robinsons Galleria just after the 8:30 AM mass.
After eating my lunch at the mall, i went to San Juan Arena for UAAP basketball games between Adamson Falcons and UST Growling Tigers for the first game and Ateneo Blue Eagles and UP Fighting Maroons for the second games, respectively. Only gallery section was available when i bought my ticket an hour before the games.
Adamson won over UST by 19 points that made the Tigers second time to be spoiled for the final four berth. Leo Canuday and Alex Nuyles led the Falcons for their fifth win in this UAAP season. The venue was full when the second game started. One-third of the crowd was Blue Eagles supporters. For Eagles, this was their time for revenge after losing to UP at the first round of elimination. Ateneo defeated UP in a wide margin.
During the fourth quarter of the game when the father of Arvin Braganza, a player fron UP suffered from cardiovascular accident while watching his son playing his last year in the UAAP. The game was temporarily stopped to attend the medical needs of Mr. Agapito Braganza Jr. and later he was rushed at the nearest hospital. Sadly, Mr. Braganza died at early morning of Monday.
I like these two teams. I like Ateneo and i also like Alvin Padilla and Miguel Antonio Reyes of UP. Actually, i bought Ryan Buenafe's jersey inside the Arena. I like the new uniforms of UP in this season and i was looking for jersey of Alvin Padilla but no vendors in the UP section.
Monday, September 7 when i went home to Isabela. In my trip back home, we were stranded at Caranglan, Nueva Ecija for five hours due to landslide. And finally, i reached Ilagan at about 12:45 PM.
Though a short vacation,I enjoyed my trip to Manila.

i thank God for...

... i thank God for the gift of life He has blessed me with - being able to experience His love and the grandeur of His creation.
As i wake up each morning to the sound of the clock, I thank God i can hear it. I think of all those deaf people who cannot even listen to their own sound.
When i grope for the switch to turn on my lamp, i thank God i can see. Then i think of all those people without sight.
As sometimes force myself out of bed and go to the bathroom, i thank God i can walk. I remember those crippled and lame people on the streets.
As i open my mouth to pray, i thank God i can speak. Millions of people are unable to talk and express their thoughts and feelings.
When i chew and swallow my breakfast meal, i thank God i have food to satisfy my hungry stomach. I think those hungry people wandering on the streets begging for foods.
When i think of all these things, i realize that i'm blessed with gifts and love of God though i know i could never thank Him enough.
My dear brothers and sisters, when was the last time we thanked God?

(I want to thank Bro. Benjamin Fajota)
